Please find below our latest update.

 

Production in Asia is going well, we have units in production that will ship before the Chinese holidays which are in the coming weeks. Processing and fulfillment of shipments received from Asia has slowed down as our Canadian province is in partial lockdown. We are currently working on opening a second fulfillment center directly in the US as it would help us speed up fulfillment and reduce shipping time for US and for international shipments. We expect a two week delay for processing new shipments. For shipments that are already in transit, there shouldn't be an additional delay.

 

 

On the development side, we have a new Beta version for Android 1.17. It should fix a few connection errors we had on the previous version. As suggested by beta testers, we will be also adding new voice commands in the coming weeks, including a schedule for ambient lighting and temperature control. For those of you who would like to participate in the Beta program but have not applied yet, please contact us to [email protected] and we will be happy to send you the details.

Dear backers,

 

Please find below our latest update,

 

We are busy with fulfillment of units and component sourcing for our new production line in Vietnam. The Chinese holidays are coming quickly and we want our new plant to be operational as soon as possible to reduce potential delays during the weeks leading to the holidays. We have multiple shipments on the way to our North American warehouse. The Vancouver port is still experiencing unloading delays for containers due to port congestion, this should affect transit time by one week. Our fulfillment operations and customer support will continue throughout the holidays.

On new product development, we have beta testers who have successfully installed the beta android app for Alexa and can control the Smartduvet with voice command. We are releasing a new version of the Android app for testers this next week, hopefully this new version will help with the installation as some testers couldn't complete the wifi setup in the app. There's also an error message when attempting to update the firmware version, this only means you already have the latest version installed. The development team is currently fixing it.

Dear Backers,

 

Please find below our latest update.

 

We are in the process of opening our new production line in Vietnam, it should be ready by early to mid November. This will help us keep production running during the December / January holidays. Production is ongoing in China. We have multiple shipments on the way to our North American warehouse for national and international shipping. The main port of entry for shipments to North America is Vancouver. Due to port congestion in Asia and Vancouver, we are currently experiencing a two weeks delay on our shipments. To speed up shipping, we are air freighting units and will receive them within 10 to 14 days.

 

We have a new Beta app for Android users, it includes a new section to allow Wifi connection and Alexa compatibility and a few design changes. We added gradation marks on the sliders for the temp control and an OFF pictogram in the middle of the sliders arc to better show how to stop air distribution. The iOS version is coming soon. We currently have Beta testers that successfully installed the new app and are using Alexa to control the Smartduvet. The process to install the app and Alexa skill is still complex and we are currently working to make it simpler and more user friendly. Dear Backers,

 

Our production and assembly of units are going well and we are now planning for long term production. We will be opening a new production line in Vietnam in October/November. This will provide us with more flexibility, and will reduce delays, in case unexpected events occur in China. All our shipments currently come from China and travel to our transit hub in Canada for North American and International shipping.

 

We incurred some delays last month with the supply of components like connectors and custom made wires but we managed to find a greater supply of these in other parts of Asia. This is also why we are enthusiastic about opening a new production line in Vietnam which is now a great manufacturing hub.

Once this information is received, we are confident that most units should be shipped in the next two months. We will then be able to focus more on product development and features.

 

On the development side we have made great progress, with a new Android firmware that works with Alexa. When activated, you can control the unit by whispering and Alexa will reply back whispering as well so that you do not wake up your partner. Voice command can change the lighting, the temperature and make the bed on demand. It is still a Beta version. We are working hard to make it more user friendly and are also preparing a new instruction manual on how to install and use it. The new instructions and invites links will be ready by the end of next week. The iOS version is being coded at the moment and we will share the instructions with the iOS beta testers when it is ready to test. Dear Backers,

 

Please find below our latest update.

 

Our operations in Asia are now back to normal. Supply of some components was challenging these past months as production lead time has increased across the board. We adapted to this new reality by working with additional suppliers which allowed us to continue assembly and should help us increase our production capacity greatly over the next weeks by opening new production lines.

Our development team is currently working on the app and the new firmware. We are allocating a lot of time on in-house testing prior to releasing the new Beta and are continuously optimizing the code to make the app quicker and fix minor glitchs in the process. The next new firmware release including Alexa will be through the Android platform first and will be followed by the iOS version shortly after. Once available you should receive a notification within the app.
