Dear Backers,

 

Please find below our latest update, 

 

Our production and assembly of units are going well, we had a challenge sourcing some components for our PCB (Printed Circuit Boards) as there's a global shortage for specific chips but our partners in Asia were able to find reliable sources to supply us with the needed components for PCB production. This slowed down production of control boxes for one week. To avoid further delays we shipped and received the plastic enclosure first and are doing the final assembling of the control box in North America. This allowed us to do assembly and quality control simultaneously. We are currently processing shipments that arrived at our warehouse and are proceeding with shipments for national and international destinations.

On the development side, we want to thank the beta testers, they helped us find compatibility issues with some smart phones. For beta testers who didn't receive the Alexa skill invite yet, it's normal, we will send a new invite for the Alexa Beta app for Android in the next few days as we release a new version to test. We are also completing the SmartThings app, it should be ready for testers in early August. Feel free to contact us if you want to be part of our beta testing program.

We have many shipments on the way from Asia. We received our layers in early May and received our shipment of control boxes two weeks ago. We are currently assembling the kits for US and international destinations shipping in the coming days.

On the development side, we are currently working on both the new Smartthings and Alexa beta app version. If you requested to be a Beta tester for Alexa or SmartThings but have not yet received the new app version, it is normal. Our dev team is currently fixing an issue with new Android phones. We should have the new app version ready by the end of June. You can currently use the previous Beta version 1.17b to connect to Alexa and control your unit via voice control. The iOS Beta version will be based on the new version 1.18 which is expected to be released soon. 
 
 
We still need Beta testers for Android version 1.17b to test with a variety of different phones and devices. For those of you who would like to participate in the Beta program for Alexa and/or SmartThings but have not applied yet, please contact us to [email protected] and we will be happy to send you the details.

Vancouver port, which is our port of entry for North America, is currently experiencing delays to unload and process containers. We received the shipment of layers and are expecting the shipment of control boxes for the US and international destinations in the coming days.
 
 
 
We have great news regarding the integration of Smartduvet to Smart home automation systems. We started working on Smartduvet integration with Samsung SmartThings platform. We are opening beta testing for this new system soon. We also have a new Alexa Beta for Android (version 1.18) which is lighter and should have most of the connection issues fixed. This will be the version we should release in Beta for iOS users later this month. Integration to Google Home, Homekit and other systems should follow in the coming months.

Please find below our latest update.
 
We started receiving our shipments that were sent before the Chinese holidays, we are currently processing them. We are also expecting multiple shipments from Asia over the next weeks.
Workplace restrictions due to Covid are gradually being lifted allowing us to increase the size of our team and speed up processing and handling of shipments arriving to our transit warehouse for North America and international destinations.
 
Components verification and kit assembly for packaging
 
On the development side, we are working on new features like a timer and scheduler for the temperature control and ambient lighting. It should be ready for both Android and iOS by early May. We also released a new version of the Beta Android Alexa app which is 1.17(b) not 1.18. Beta users can control their Smartduvet with basic voice commands. The dev team is currently fixing reported bugs and are also simplify the instruction to make it more user friendly. The Beta version for iOS should also be available in early May.

Dear Backers,

 

Please find below our latest update.

 

We have multiple shipments on the way from Asia to our North American warehouse. They were sent before the Chinese New Year holidays which just started on February 12th. Fulfilment and transit time for previous shipments that arrived in Canada last month were slower than expected as the province went into full lockdown from January 9th to early February. We had limited access during this period but can now resume fulfillment and will be able to process units pending in transit for North America and other international destinations starting this week.

 

Quality control and verification

 

We are about to release a new version of the Android app as some beta testers reported that connection through Wifi was not working properly for them with beta version 1.17. We will have version ready 1.18 by the third week of February. The release of the iOS Beta version for Alexa is scheduled for March.
